Makes sense. But also, if companies/writers make their roundups more personal and talk about their experience using the “x best tools” vs just a generic list, isn’t that more useful/helpful for the reader? Just curious what you think!

To me there is is an important distinction to be made between creating content to fill a user's need, which can easily be done while writing for SEO, and creating content for the user.

Content created for a user does more than just fill a need. Authenticity, real life experience, practical application, empathy, storey telling. These are things that create connection and true engagement.

Then again it depends on the topic, as you said, does the emotion matter?
